1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT
This wonderful Ferrari Dino 246 GT, offered with Ferrari Classiche, was ordered new through Maranello Concessionaires Ltd on 21st March 1972 and delivered on 7th April 1972 in Rosso Chiaro with black interior. It was delivered to car connoisseur, Phil Scragg CBE. Scragg kept the car for that year, before part exchanging it against a new Ferrari Daytona in 1973. Invoices in the file from Manarello Concessionaires confirm that the car was then sold on 30th July 1973 through them to Mr Richards Esq.
On 20th November 1973, correspondence from Michelin confirms the car was used by them in their tyre advertisements of that year; the car features in a variety of Dino books within the advert, and a copy is available in the car’s file.
Richards used the car sparingly and kept it until 2015, covering just under 31,000 miles in his ownership. Details in the car’s file confirm the mileage to be genuine, and it is offered along with the original book pack containing the warranty card and a host of bills and receipts.
In 2015, Joe Macari undertook a 369 hour restoration to the highest standard. The restoration is documented within the file, with a detailed breakdown of labour costs and all parts renewed. Mechanically, the engine and gearbox were removed and overhauled.
With just 300 miles completed since this restoration, this world-class restored three-owner Dino has covered just over 31,000 miles from new.
